LOUISVILLE, Ky.- The University of Louisville softball team will travel to Chicago for a doubleheader against former Big East foe DePaul on Wednesday at 4 p.m. (ET).

? Sophomore Jordan McNary leads the Cardinals with a .415 batting average while senior Kelsi Jones follows closely at a .412 clip and a team-best 31 runs, 15 doubles and 12 stolen bases. Sophomore Maryssa Becker has driven in a team-high 30 RBI and has five home runs on the season.
? Becker (8-4) leads the Cardinals' pitching staff with a 2.85 ERA and 87 strikeouts in 98.1 innings. Freshman Shelby McCombs (8-3) follows with a 2.93 ERA and 52 Ks in 76.1 innings of work.
? Sandy Pearsall is in her 16th season as UofL's head coach. After building the program from scratch in 2000, Pearsall has guided the Cardinals to six conference championships. Under her watch, Louisville has made 11 consecutive NCAA regional appearances and served as a host site in 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013. On March 14, Pearsall recorded her 600th win at UofL (also the 600th victory in program history). She is now 611-304 as the Cardinals' head coach.
Cards against DePaul
Series Record: DePaul leads 20-25; Louisville has won past four meetings. The two teams faced off numerous times as members of the C-USA and BIG EAST Conferences. Last Meeting: March 26, 2014 - Louisville swept a doubleheader from DePaul 8-0 and 7-3 at Ulmer Stadium. Kelsi Jones went 2-for-4 with three RBIs to lead the Cards in the first game. Brittany Duncan went 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs while Jones added three hits in the second game to lead the Cards. Maryssa Becker picked up both wins, tossing 12 innings of shutout ball.
Scouting the Blue Demons: DePaul carries a 12-16 record after sweeping Providence in a conference series at the end of March. Sophomore Dylan Christensen leads the Blue Demons with a team best .423 batting average along with five home runs and 17 RBIs. Senior Mary Connolly leads the team with nine home runs and 27 RBIs to go along with her .386 average. Sophomore Nicole Pihl boasts a .338 average with eight home runs and 23 RBIs for the Blue Demons. Junior infielder Morgan Maize adds six home runs and 20 RBIs with her .358 average. Connolly leads the Blue Demons in the circle with a 6-9 record and a 7.28 ERA.
Cardinal Connection: Louisville's graduate assistant, Kirsten Verdun returns to her old stomping grounds having played for the Blue Demons from 2011-2014. She became the first pitcher in program history to accumulate 900-innings with more than 900 strikeouts and 100 or more wins. She holds the career record for career starts, strikeout s looking and batters faced, while finishing second in the record books in wins, strikeouts, innings pitched, appearances, and complete games. She ranked second in DePaul's record books with 37 home runs and holds the record for the most career walks with 156.
Up Next: The Cardinals will return home to host Florida State for a three game set at Ulmer Stadium over the weekend. The series will begin on Saturday night and continuing through Monday night. All games are scheduled for 7 p.m. with Sunday and Monday's games being televised on ESPNU.
Last Up: Louisville was swept by Virginia Tech in a three-game series marking the first time the Cardinals have been swept by an ACC opponent - and lost a conference series. The Hokies used a home run by Kylie McGoldrick to win in the ninth inning in game one and then swept a doubleheader by scores of 2-0 in both games. The back-to-back shutouts were the first since 2007.
