Team Notes
- Louisville records its first home victory of the season and improves to 75-10 all-time in the KFC Yum! Center.
- With the win, the Cardinals move to 3-0 all-time against Valparaiso and 29-15 against the Horizon League.
- After the win, Louisville has is 48-11 in games in the month of December under head coach Jeff Walz.
- It is the third time this season Louisville has tallied 20 assists in a game, the previous times occurred in the opener against California and on the road against Michigan State.
- The Cardinals held Valparaiso to 19 first-half points, their lowest by an opponent this season. It is the lowest since Pittsburgh scored 18 points in the first half last season on Feb 8, 2015.
- This is the first time under the new format that the Cardinals held an opponent to single digit points in two or more quarters.
- Louisville grabbed 12 steals in the win, its fifth game this season with 10 or more.
- The Cardinals had five players reach double-figures in scoring which ties a season-high set in the previous game against Michigan State.
- Louisville had a season-high five blocks in the victory over Valparaiso.
- The Cardinals continued to be active on the offensive glass with 19 offensive rebounds, their fifth out of their last six games with 10 or more.
Player Notes
- Freshman Erin DeGrate had a breakout game against Valparaiso with 10 points, six rebounds, two blocks and one steal. She set a season high in points and rebounds while tying a season high in blocks and assists.
- Myisha Hines-Allen scored 12 points which tied a game high and was the fifth consecutive game reaching double-figures this season.
- Sam Fuehring was another freshman who had an impact on the game with 10 points, two rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal. The points were a season high while the assist, block and steal tied a season high.
- Mariya Moore scored in double-digits for the sixth time this season after putting up 12 against Valparaiso and set a season high in assists with five.
- Freshman Taja Cole was active in the passing lanes and set a season high in steals with three.
- Cortnee Walton recorded her second game this season with double-digit rebounds after grabbing 11 in the win over Valparaiso.
- Dakota Weatherford tallied her first assist as a Cardinal in the third quarter off the jumper from Cortnee Walton.
- Freshman Brianna Jones hauled in four rebounds setting a season high while tying a season high in steals with one.
- Asia Durr recorded five rebounds for a season high and scored in double figures for the third time in just four games this season.
