
Women’s Basketball Caps Road Swing on Sunday at College of Charleston

The Cardinals and Cougars tip on Sunday at 2 p.m. in TD Arena.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's basketball program caps its two-game road swing on Sunday at College of Charleston in TD Arena at 2 p.m. in Charleston, S.C.
The meeting will air on CofCsports.com, and the radio broadcast will be available on WKRD 790 AM in Louisville, with Matt Andrews (play-by-play) and Adrienne Johnson (analyst) calling the action.
Louisville (6-5) is coming off its third-consecutive victory, fifth in the last six games, after defeating Tennessee Tech 76-54 on Friday night.
The Cardinals logged 40 points off of 27 forced turnovers and produced more than half of its points (44) in the paint. Louisville also earned a 34-28 advantage on the board.
Myisha Hines-Allen scored a game-high 20 points on 9-of-15 shooting – her third game this season with at least 20 points – and added eight boards in the victory. Mariya Moore and Briahanna Jackson each added 11 points, and Arica Carter had a solid all-around game with nine points, five assists, and a game-best four steals.
Through 11 games, Hines-Allen is leading the Cardinals in scoring at 14.8 points per game, 10th best in the ACC, and boasts a 7.8 rebounding average. Jackson (14.5) and Moore (13.2) round out the top three scorers, both marks that rank in the top 20 in the conference. Jackson leads the team with 29 steals, and Moore has dished out a program-best 43 assists.
College of Charleston (4-4) enters the game having lost back-to-back decisions.
Most recently, the Cougars fell at home 78-44 to Western Kentucky on Friday. The Cougars shot just 30.0 percent from the floor and turned the ball over 17 times, resulting in 21 points for the Hilltoppers.
Kelsey Booth scored a team-high 10 points in the loss, and Breanna Bolden added seven points, six assists, and five rebounds. Courtney Gardner came off the bench to contribute six points.
On the season, Bolden is leading the team in points per game (14.3) and steals (24), while averaging 5.4 rebounds. Jackie Luna-Castro is second on the team in scoring (8.8), and Booth boasts a team-best 5.5 rebounding average. Nola Henry has 29 assists, the most on the squad.
The Cougars are under the guidance of second-year coach Candice Jackson, who has guided the team to a 9-29 record. College of Charleston was picked ninth in the Colonial Athletic Association's preseason poll, and Bolden was named to the preseason all-conference first team.
