SYRACUSE, NY - The University of Louisville women's soccer team defeated Syracuse 1-0 for an ACC road win on Sunday afternoon. Sophomore Isabella Habuda scored her second game-winner of the week for the Cardinal win.Â
"A win on the road is huge in the conference," said head coach Karen Ferguson-Dayes. "I am really proud of this group. It was a great team win today,  we will enjoy it the rest of the day and then get ready for our next opponent."
The Louisville offense got started early, Habuda had a shot in the sixth minute but the shot was saved. Rachel Avant regained possession but her shot was blocked by an Orange defender. The pressure paid off in the 12th minute for Louisville. Aubrey Baker found Habuda streaking up the right side of the field and slipped her a through ball. Habuda beat the keeper for the score, giving Louisville a 1-0 lead.
The Orange had their first shot on goal in the 17th minute but Taylor Bucklin was able to make the save. Â Syracuse had another chance in the 42nd minute but once again Bucklin was there to collect the header and preserve the Cards' lead. Â
