The Cardinals held practice at the KFC Yum! Center on Saturday morning for season ticket holders.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's basketball program not only values its fan base, but also greatly appreciates its season ticket holders.
The Cardinals held an exclusive practice on Saturday morning for their season ticket holders, with more than 1,000 fans RSVP'ing for the event. Doors opened before 9 a.m. and the crowd not only was able to watch the Cardinals conduct a full practice, but also had the chance to gain insight on the 2015-16 team from head coach Jeff Walz.
The winningest coach in program history, Walz detailed the chemistry of this year's group and specifically talked about each individual on the roster. He also spoke the team's schedule, the new rule changes that are being implemented this season, and new projects the program is working toward.
Walz, during practice, talked about the drills the team was running and the goals of each one, while adding his naturally comic flavor at times. Fans asked questions about the student-athletes and other facets of the program and also were able to see first-hand instruction from each of the coaches.
After practice concluded, the Cardinals met with the fans in the lobby of the KFC Yum! Center for an autograph and meet-and-greet session.
Louisville, which was tabbed eighth in the first USA Today Coaches' Poll, opens its season on Nov. 15 at the KFC Yum! Center against 2013 Final Four opponent California. Season ticket information is available on GoCards.com.
