Women's Golf Travels West to Golfweek Conference Challenge

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's golf team is taking its first true road trip of the year, when it travels west to the Golfweek Conference Challenge that features an 18-team field in Wolcott, Colo.
The three-day event, which lasts from Monday, Sept. 22-24, is being held at the Tom Fazio Course at Red Sky Golf Club. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat.com.
The par-72, 54-hole competition is designed to pit one school from 18 different conferences, with Louisville representing the Atlantic Coast Conference. Other teams participating include Colorado (Pac-12), Denver (Summit League), two-time defending champion Pepperdine (West Coast Conference), and Tennessee (Southeastern Conference).
The Cardinals are slated to utilize a different lineup from the first two competitions, which consists of Emily Haas, Katie Mitchell, Katie Petrino, Shannon Gramley, and Laura Restrepo.
Louisville is coming off its second-consecutive team title to the open the year, capturing its third-consecutive Cardinal Cup title on Sept. 16. After the first day, which encompassed two 18-hole rounds, the Cardinals trailed the leader nine strokes. Led by Haas, Louisville completed the comeback with the best third-round score for a six-stroke victory.
Haas carded a 1-under-par 71 in the third round to earn a fourth-place finish in the individual standings, while Mitchell fired a 1-over-par 73 through the last 18 to tie for fifth. Petrino (tied for 11th) and Oxner (tied for 14th) each finished in the top 15.
For the season, Haas leads the team with a 72.40 stroke average through five rounds, with four rounds even or below par. Mitchell and Restrepo each boast 74.60 averages.
