
WAVE-TV Will Air UofL Coaches Shows

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - WAVE-TV, an NBC affiliate in Louisville, will produce and air University of Louisville football and men's basketball coaches television shows exclusively for the 2014-15 and 2015-16 seasons.
"Inside the Cards" with U of L coaches Bobby Petrino and Rick Pitino will be broadcast each Sunday at noon on WAVE 3 News, with special airings on Saturday, September 13 at 11:30 a.m., preceding the live telecast on WAVE of the University of Louisville at Virginia football game, and Sunday, September 28 at 1 p.m., following Ryder Cup coverage on WAVE.
WAVE 3 News Sports Director Kent Taylor, honored as the 2014 Kentucky Sportscaster of The Year by the National Sportscasters and Sports Writers Association, will host the programs. The first program will air August 31, the day before the Cardinals' football season opener against Miami in Papa John's Cardinal Stadium
"We appreciate the opportunity to showcase these coaches and teams in a special way for fans in the inaugural season in the Atlantic Coast Conference," said Ken Selvaggi, WAVE 3 News vice president and general manager. "It will be a great partnership with the University of Louisville."
In addition to the coaches shows, WAVE 3 will broadcast multiple UofL football and men's basketball contests and other Atlantic Coast Conference game this season through a Raycom Sports package of ACC games.
WAVE 3 News airs more than 45 hours of news each week, including a live newscast weekdays from 7 to 8 a.m. on Bounce Louisville and This TV Louisville (WAVE 3.3 and 3.2 digital channels), and streams all newscasts live on www.wave3.com and the WAVE mobile apps.
