"Very happy to get a sweep this weekend," said UofL head coach Sandy Pearsall. "I thought our offense did a great job of bringing in people in scoring position and our pitching was strong this weekend.
Kayla Soles was 3 for 3 with two runs and an RBI and Maryssa Becker struck out four in 5-0 innings to help the Cardinals improve to 27-15 (8-4 American Athletic Conference).
The Cards took a 2-0 lead in the second when Brittany Duncan and Kayla Soles delivered back-to-back singles to start the inning and Taner Fowler's one-out hit loaded the bases. An error on the throw home on Tiarra Sanabria's fielder's choice sent Duncan and Soles home to put Louisville on the scoreboard.

The Huskies (9-29, 2-9) got a run back in the top of the fourth behind Valerie Sadowl's one-out solo home run to make the score 3-1.

Brittany Duncan walked to load the bases for Soles' RBI single. One out later, Fowler's two-run single increased the lead to 6-1. Tiarra Sanabria was hit by a pitch to load the bases again for Hannah Kiyohara's walk which brought Becker home. Jones followed with a two-run single to complete the scoring at 9-1.
