No. 5 Cardinals Host USF on Sunday

The fifth ranked Louisville women's basketball will host USF on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the KFC Yum! Center. The game will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network. It can also be heard live on the Cards Radio with Matt Andrews and Adrienne Johnson, carried locally on WKRD 790 AM.
Shoni Schimmel scored 24 points, Asia Taylor added 19 and No. 5 Louisville rallied to beat Rutgers 80-71 on Tuesday night for its 14th straight victory. The Cardinals trailed 48-42 only 5 minutes into the second half before Schimmel and Sara Hammond took over. Schimmel's 3-pointer started a 22-9 run over the next 8 minutes. Hammond followed with eight straight points, hitting a 3-pointer from the wing and then a three-point play.
The Cardinals have an overall record of 21-1 and a conference record of 9-0. Schimmel leads the team in scoring with 18.4 points per game. Hammond ranks second on the team in scoring, averaging 11.5 points. She also leads the team in rebounding with 6.5 boards per game. Taylor ranks third on the team in scoring with 10.2 points per game. She also ranks just under Hammond in rebounding with 6.2 boards per game. Bria Smith rounds out the top scorers averaging 9.5 points per game.
South Florida enters Sunday's game with an overall record of 11-9 and a 6-3 record in conference play. USF started on a 15-2 run and never looked back in a 71-53 victory over Houston at the Sun Dome on Wednesday night. USF finished with four players in double figures. Courtney Williams led all scorers with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Sophomore Courtney Williams leads the Bulls in scoring with 14.1 points per game. Alisia Jenkins ranks second on the team with 10.3 points per game. She also leads the team with 10.9 rebounds per game, and 19 total steals for the season. Tamara Taylor rounds out the top three scorers with 10.0 points per game.
Louisville leads the series 24-4 over USF. The Cardinals won the last meeting 64-52 in Tampa on Jan. 12.
