LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Jody Martin, one of the top-15 scorers in University of Louisville women's basketball history, has been named to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame's 2015 Silver Anniversary Team for outstanding accomplishments as a senior basketball player 25 years ago.
The team includes 11 members of the 1990 Indiana All-Star squad, among them Indiana's Miss Basketball. Seven other all-state players are included to comprise the best of Indiana's high school class of 1990.
Martin, a 1990 Indiana All-Star, poured in more than 1,000 career points at Alexandria Monroe High. She was a three-time selection to the Herald Bulletin all-area team, the CIC Conference team, and the all-sectional squad. She also was an AAU 16 and U-18 All-American, part of the 1990 Indiana Basketball Coaches Association all-state team, and an Indiana East/West All-Star.
Now a registered nurse at Ball Memorial Hospital, Martin lettered four years at Louisville in basketball (1990-94) and one year in volleyball. She was a four-time Dean's List honoree, first team all-Metro Conference pick in 1993-94, and helped lead Louisville to the 1991 NIT and 1993 NCAA Tournament. She finished her basketball career with 1,240 points, good enough for 13th all-time.
All Women's Silver Anniversary Team members will be honored at the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame's 14th Annual Women's Banquet on April 25. The ceremony will take place at the Primo Banquet Hall, which is located on the south side of Indianapolis. Tickets will be made available in coming weeks or can be reserved through the Hall's website at www.hoopshall.com.
