Athletics to Hold First Coaches' Spotlight on Oct. 28

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville athletic department is holding its first Coaches' Spotlight session on Tuesday, Oct. 28, beginning at 6 p.m. at the UofL Golf Club in Simpsonville, Ky.
Women's basketball head coach Jeff Walz and softball head coach Sandy Pearsall, the first set of featured guests, will host a question and answer session in The Ville Restaurant and Lounge that is located in Louisville's newly renovated golf clubhouse.

The Coaches' Spotlight is open to the public and will feature food and drink specials, including a $10 burger and beer dinner. Fans in attendance will have the opportunity to ask questions and engage with the staff members.

Women's basketball head coach Jeff Walz is in his eighth season at the helm of the program, leading the Cardinals to at least the Sweet 16 five times - two of which culminated with NCAA runner-up finishes. He also has produced two highly decorated All-Americans, 16 all-conference selections, and five WNBA draft picks.
UofL Women's Basketball: Louisville, which reached the NCAA Elite Eight a season ago under head coach Jeff Walz, is entering its first year in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The team boasts five seniors, including all-region and all-conference selection Sara Hammond, and a five-member incoming class that boasts 2014 McDonald's All-Americans Myisha Hines-Allen and Mariya Moore.
Sandy Pearsall
Softball head coach Sandy Pearsall is in her 16th season leading the UofL program. The Cardinals have achieved six conference championships and 11-consecutive NCAA regional appearances after starting the program from scratch in 2000.
UofL Softball: Louisville posted a 36-22 overall record, claimed the 2014 American Athletic Conference Championship, and capped the season with the program's 11th-straight NCAA appearance. The Cardinals return six starters and 13 letterwinners from the 2014 team, including NFCA All-Central Regional selection Maryssa Becker and all-American Athletic Conference team members Whitney Arion and Kayla Soles. Eight newcomers will also take the field for the Cardinals this season.
The next session is scheduled for Nov. 4 at The Ville and Restaurant Lounge.
