Women's Tennis Completes Play at ITA Regional
October 20, 2014 | Women's Tennis
On the final day of competition at the ITA Ohio Valley Regionals, the University of Louisville womenn's tennis team fell just short of the quarterfinals this Sunday in Knoxville.
Elle Stokes took down Kaylene Chadwill 6-0, 6-4 but fell short against Vanderbilt's Ellie Yates. Olivia Boesing lost to the No. 2 ranked Courtney Colton, also of Vanderbilt, 6-1, 6-0.
''We had a good regional tournament and I'm pleased with the results," said UofL head coach Mark Beckham. "We were just unfortunate in running into Vanderbilt in all of our losses but one. Vandy is a top 5 level team in the nation, so that is nothing to be discouraged about. Elle Stokes had a great tournament and with quality wins we had, we are on the right track with our improvement.''
On November 1st the Cardinals will head to West Lafayette, Ind. to compete in the Purdue Invitational.
