
Women's Golf Finishes Ninth at SMU Invitational

DALLAS - The average score for the third round of the SMU Dallas Athletic Club Invitational on Sunday was just above 80. Emily Haas was an exception. The sophomore anchor for the Cardinals tied for the lowest round of the day.
Haas fired a 1-under par 71 at the 6,301-yard Dallas Athletic Club en route to a third place finish at 222. Haas tied with Oklahoma's Chirapt Jao-Javanil and AC Tanguay for the low round of the day. It marked Haas' fourth top 10 finish of the year.
Louisville improved one spot to finish ninth in the 15-team field with a third round score of 309. The Cardinals shot a 945 for the tournament. Oklahoma State captured the team title at 896. The Cowgirls' Julie Yang captured individual medalist honors with a 6-under par 210.
Laura Restrepo and Sara Karlsson also shot below the average score for the day. Restrepo fired a 79 while Karlsson carded a 76. Restrepo tied for 33rd at 237 and Karlsson tied for 42nd at 241.
Katie Petrino and Meghan Theiss both shot an 83. Petrino finished tied for 52nd at 245. Theiss placed 70th with a three-day score of 256.
Louisville will be back in action at the BIG EAST Championship in Reunion, Fla. on April 21.
