
Fellerhoff Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

Louisville junior Julia Fellerhoff was named BIG EAST Player of the Week in women's tennis in the 13th weekly awards of the spring 2013 season.
Fellerhoff went 2-0 at No. 1 singles and 2-0 at No. 1 doubles to help the Cardinals defeat Marquette (5-2) and DePaul (4-3). The junior beat Ana Pimienta of Marquette 5-7, 6-4, 10-4 and No. 84 Matea Cutura of DePaul 6-4, 6-3. In doubles action, Fellerhoff was paired with Rebecca Shine. The pair swept Aina Hernandez Soler and Ali Dawson of the Golden Eagles 8-0 and defeated Cutura and Ana Vladutu of the Blue Demons 8-4.
Regular-season play has concluded as teams prepare for the BIG EAST Championships April 18-21. The women's teams will play on the Varsity Courts of USF in Tampa, Fla. U of L will play #14 seed Seton Hall at noon on Thursday. If they win, they will play the winner of the #6-seed Rutgers/#11 St. John's match at noon on Friday. U of L is back in the rankings at No. 69.
