Connell Named BIG EAST Pitcher of Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - The University of Louisville's Caralisa Connell was named BIG EAST Conference Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 25.
Connell (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) went 4-0 on the week with two complete-game, one-hit shutouts. The junior allowed one earned run and struck out 28 in 20.1 innings of work. She scattered six hits and held opponents to a .095 batting average.
No. 18/18 Louisville (12-2) will travel to Orlando, Fla. for the 2013 Citrus Classic where they will face No. 9/10 Texas, Temple, Longwood, Georgia Tech and No. 10/11 LSU March 1-3 at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex.
