Shine and Fellerhoff Named AAC Players of the Month

In recognition of outstanding performances during October, the American Athletic Conference recognized Louisville's Rebecca Shine and Julia Fellerhoff were honored as Female Players of the Month.

The Louisville pair of Fellerhoff and Shine were honored as they also qualified for the ITA National Indoor Championship by riding big wins and big upsets. Playing at the Ohio Valley Regional, the duo rolled off five straight wins, including an upset of the No. 1 seeded pair of Krisztina Kapitany and Mara Schmidt from Purdue in the semifinals. With an 8-5 victory over Memphis' Alyssa Hibberd and Caroline Wegner in the finals, the pair qualified for the ITA Indoor Championships. In singles play, Fellerhoff was 3-1, while Shine was 5-1.
