Women's Tennis Completes Day 1 at Ball State Invitational

The University of Louisville women's tennis team completed day one of action at its annual Fall Invitational Friday night.
The Cardinals started indoors at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center and then moved outdoors to the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center after the weather improved. In 3 Singles, Stefanie Villajuan defeated Lewis of Wright State 6-2, 6-1 before downing Abello of Illinois State 6-2. 6-3.
In 4 Singles, Valentina Schneider defeated Filnart of Dayton 6-2, 6-0 before falling to Rodriguez 6-2, 2-6, 10-4.
As a doubles team, Mandy Brown and Stefanie Villajuan beat Goheen and Zbanovec of Valparaiso 8-0 and Huck and Lindal of IPFW 8-4.
The Cards' women's tennis team will continue play at its invitational Saturday at the Cardinal Creek Tennis Center. First serve is set for 9 a.m.
