The University of Louisville softball team will hold five camps in the month of July. All camps will be held at Ulmer Stadium and coached by the 2012 BIG EAST Coaching Staff of the Year, Sandy Pearsall, Carol Bruggeman and Courtney Scott, as well as several current and former Cardinals.
The sessions for players ages 13-18 will kick off on July 9 with Pitching and Catching Camp from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Hitting Camp will take place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Advanced All-Skills Camp will take place July 10-11 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and will conclude the sessions for campers ages 13-18.
The Pitching and Catching Camp for players ages 7-12 will be held July 17 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. with Hitting Camp following from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The Cardinals are coming off of a program-best 2012 season in which they produced a 55-5 overall record, won the BIG EAST regular season and tournament titles and made their ninth-straight NCAA tournament appearance. Louisville finished the season at No .17 in the USA Today/National Fastpitch Coaches Association rankings and No. 18 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball coaches' poll, but spent five weeks in the top 10 of both polls, reaching as high as Nos. 9 and 7 respectively.
