The University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 6-1 to No. 19-ranked Notre Dame in BIG EAST tennis action Sunday afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.

The Cardinals 11-9 and 2-1 in the league. The Irish are now 17-7 and 5-0 in BIG EAST play as both squads wrap up their regular season play and head into the BIG EAST Championships next week in Tampa, Fla.

U of L dropped the doubles points, falling in all three positions. Mandy Brown and Julia Fellerhoff fell 8-4 at No. 1 to Kristy Frilling and Katherine White. The senior pair of Amelia Harris and Sarah Miller were beaten 8-2 at No. 3. The No. 2 pair of Manuela Velasquez and Rebecca Shine battled but fell 8-6 to Britney Sanders and Katherine White.

In singles, U of L's Sarah Miller won her first set 6-4, dropped the second set (3-6) and then won the tiebreaker at 11-9 at No. 5. She snapped Notre Dame's four match streak of 7-0 sweeps with the point. U of L's No. 4 Manuela Velasquez took her first set 6-1, fell in the second 6-2 and then 6-3 in the third in a tightly contested match.

U of L will find out its opponent for the BIG EAST Championship on Monday afternoon.
