
Track and Field's Kendall, Theophille Head to NCAA Championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville track and field student-athletes Michelle Theophille and Amashi Kendall will travel to Idaho this weekend to compete at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships on Friday, March 9, at Jacksons Indoor Track at the Idaho Sports Center in Nampa.
Both student-athletes will compete on Friday, and competition is set to begin at 10 a.m. Live results will be available on www.flashresults.com.
The entire NCAA Indoor Championships meet will be streamed live online either by ESPN3 or NCAA.com/broncosports.com. From 12-7:30 p.m. on Friday and 12:30-8 p.m. on Saturday, the NCAA.com/broncosports.com will carry the action. The latter part of each day - Friday, beginning at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, beginning at 8 p.m. - ESPN3 will broadcast the meet.
Theophille, who placed third in the high jump at the BIG EAST Indoor Championships, last competed at the Virginia Tech Final Qualifier on March 3. A junior, she cleared 1.82m/5-11.50 on her first attempt, tying the school's indoor record set by Rachel Gehret in 2009 to win the competition. The mark ranks 16th-best nationally.
Kendall registered her season-best mark of 20.83m/68-4.25, which is 14th-best nationally, at the Virginia Tech Elite Meet in early February. The junior won the weight throw title at the conference championships and took second in the shot put. She won the weight throw event title four different times this year.
Theophille and Kendall each are making their first appearances at the NCAA Championships.
