
Women's Golf Finishes Ninth at LSU Golf Classic

Baron Rouge, La. - The Louisville women's golf team finished ninth in the LSU Golf Classic on Sunday afternoon at the University Club in Baton Rouge, La. The Cardinals shot a 308 in the final round to finish with a score of 930. Tennessee won the tournament with a score of 880. Host LSU finished second with a score of 882 while North Carolina finished third with a score of 889.
Senior Maria Castellanos finished tied at 20th. Castellanos shot a 76 in the final round for a score of 228. North Carolina's Catherine O'Donnell and Tennessee's Erica Popson won the tournament with a score of 214.
Freshman Katie Petrino shot a 77 in the final round. Petrino finished tied at 23rd with a score of 229. Freshman Emily Haas finished tied at 31st. Haas shot a team low 74 in the final round to finish with a score of 231.
Senior Anna-Karin Ljungstrom finished tied for 66th playing through a wrist injury this weekend. She shot an 85 in the final round to finish with a score of 246. Freshman Sara Karlsson shot an 81 in the final round for a score of 251. She finished the weekend tied at 74th. Junior Candice Wiley finished tied at 68th playing as an individual. Wiley shot an 84 in the final round to finish with a score of 247.
The Cardinals will be back in action on March 23 at the Mountain View Collegiate in Tucson, Ariz.
