
Women's Basketball Hosts Washington State on Tuesday Evening

Louisville, Ky. - The No. 14/8 Louisville women's basketball team will host Washington State on Tuesday, Dec. 18 in the KFC Yum! Center at 7:00 p.m. The Cardinals will be looking to bounce back after falling to No. 25 Colorado 70-66 on Friday night.
The Cardinals enter the game with an overall record of 9-2. Antonita Slaughter scored a season-high 19 points against Colorado, leading four players in double figures. Overall, Shoni Schimmel leads the Cardinals in scoring (11.4 ppg), assists (4.0), steals (2.1) and 3-point field goals made (22). Sara Hammond follows her in the scoring column with 11.2 points per game and pulls down a team best 7.8 rebounds per game.
Washington State enters the game with an overall record of 3-5. Lia Galdeira scored 13 of her 15 points in the second half to help Washington State upset No. 20 Ohio State 62-55 Saturday. Galdeira, a freshman, leads the team in scoring with 15.0 points per game. She also leads the team with 27 steals on the year. Sophomore point guard Tia Presley ranks second on the team in scoring with 11.9 points per game. Presley also leads the team in assists with 31. Sage Romberg leads the team in rebounding with 5.6 per game
Louisville leads the series 1-0 against Washington State. Last seasons the Cardinals escaped with a 75-71 win over the Cougars in Pullman.
