
Fellerhoff and Shine Advance in ITA Ohio Valley Regional

The University of Louisville women's tennis team will send two singles players to the Semi-finals of the ITA Ohio Valley Regional held in West Lafayette on the campus of Purdue University.
Rebecca Shine defeated Christiana Raymond of Miami of Ohio 6-4, 7-5 before she beat Caroline Wegner of Memphis 6-4, 6-3. She then advanced by defeating Frances Atlick of Vanderbilt 7-5, 7-6 (2). She advances to the semi-finals and will face Tennessee's Brynn Boren.
Julia Fellerhoff beat Lexi Brand of Middle Tennessee 6-1, 6-0 before dispatching Christine Guerazzi of Miami of Ohio 6-4, 6-1. She then hung on to win a three-setter over Krisztina Kapitani of Purdue 6-3, 2-6, 6-1. She will face Marie Casares of Vandy in the semi-finals.
Mandy Brown frell to Memphis' Tiffany Welcher 6-1, 6-4 and then in consolations to Kayla Jones of Chattanooga 5-7, 6-3, 10-4.
Stefanie Villajuan, who played her way in through the qualification rounds, fell to Jasmine Lee of Cincinnati 6-2, 6-3 and the lost to Khristina Blajketvich of Kentucky 6-2, 6-3.
In doubles, Fellerhoff and Shine defeated Kelly Gray and Stefanie Mikesz of Memphis 9-8 (7) before winning a match over Irina Constantinide and Yuiri Nomato of Middle Tennessee 8-4. But the pair was upended by Tennessee's Brynn Boren and Kata Szekely 8-4.
Valentina Schneider and Alex Tachovsky lost to Caitlin McGraw and Jessica Stiles of Kentucky 8-1 but came back and beat Lexi Brand and Nayara Moreas of Middle Tennessee in consols 8-3. They finally fell to Jasmine Lee and Ashleigh Witte of Cincinnati 8-3.
