
Women's Basketball Travels to Georgetown

Louisville women's basketball (15-4, 4-2) will travel to our nation's capital on Sunday to face Georgetown (15-4, 4-2) in McDonough Arena at 5:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2 with Beth Mowins and Kara Lawson calling the action.
The Cardinals are coming off a 64-48 win over Providence at home on Wednesday night. Three players are averaging double figures with sophomore Shoni Schimmel leading the team with 13.0 points per game while leading the team with 4.6 assists per game. Senior Becky Burke is second with 11.9 points per game while freshman Bria Smith is averaging 11.1 points per game. Cierra Warren leads the team on the boards with 4.8 rebounds per game.
Georgetown is coming off a 67-39 road win at Marquette on Tuesday night. The Hoyas are 7-2 at home this season with losses to Notre Dame (80-60) and DePaul (59-50). Junior guard Sugar Rodgers leads the Hoyas in scoring and steals with 19.8 points per game and 48 steals on the year. Senior forward Tia Magee ranks second on the team in scoring with 11.1 points per game while leading the team on the boards with 6.8 rebounds per game. Senior point guard Rubylee Wright is averaging 7.0 ppg, while leading the team in assists with 92.
Louisville leads the series 4-2 against Georgetown. The Cardinals are 2-1 against the Hoyas on the road.
