LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville track and field teams completed the two-day Gladstein Invitational in Bloomington, Ind., at the Gladstein Fieldhouse late Saturday afternoon, gaining an additional two BIG EAST qualifiers in Seon Powell and Wesley Smith.
Powell participated in the long jump for the first time this season, placing second and earning a league-indoor qualifying mark of 6.92m/22-8.50. Smith also punched his ticket to the league championships after a fifth-place finish in the event. The duo gives the Cardinal men 12 qualifiers for the BIG EAST Indoor Championships in February.
On the women's side, Ahlivia Spencer clocked a time of 2:15.11 in the 800m finals for a sixth-place showing.
Louisville returns to competition next weekend in Bloomington, Ind., for the Indiana Relays. The event, held on Friday and Saturday, will take place at the Gladstein Fieldhouse.
