
Women's Basketball Hosts South Florida Wednesday Night

Louisville, Ky. - Louisville women's basketball (13-3, 3-1) will be looking to bounce back from its first BIG EAST loss of the season as they host USF (9-7, 1-1) on Wednesday night in the KFC Yum! Center at 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on WHAS-TV (11.2, and Insight 432).
The Cardinals are 13-3 on the season after falling 74-62 at St. John's on Sunday afternoon. Three players are averaging double figures with sophomore Shoni Schimmel leading the team with 13.8 points per game while leading the team with 4.8 assists per game. Senior Becky Burke is second with 12.3 points per game while freshman Bria Smith is averaging 11.5 points per game. Cierra Warren leads the team on the boards with 4.9 rebounds per game.
USF started the season 1-1 in the BIG EAST, defeating Cincinnati 58-55 on the road Tuesday and falling 66-56 to Georgetown at home on Saturday. The Bulls have an overall record of 9-7 this season. Senior guard Jasmine Wynne is averaging a team-high 15.9 points in large part to her team leading 69 free throws (shooting .704 from the foul line). Wynne also leads the team with 6.0 rebounds per game. Junior guard Kaneisha Sanders has started in 13 games and averages 12.1 points and leads the team with 46 assists.
Louisville leads the series 21-3 over South Florida. Louisville owns a 10-1 record at home against the Bulls.
Fans can participate in the Size Up Contest. Those shorter than Shelby and Taller than Sheronne will receive a $2 ticket at the window of the KFC Yum! Center.
