
Women's Golf to Host the Wild Eggs Cardinal Cup

Louisville, Ky. - The Louisville women's golf team will host the Wild Eggs Cardinal Cup on Monday and Tuesday at the Cardinal Club Golf Course in Simpsonsville, Ky. The 54-hole tournament will feature 14 teams and 11 individuals at the par-72, 6,253-yard Cardinal Club Course. The tournament will begin on Monday, Sept. 19 with 36-holes and will wrap up Tuesday, Sept. 20 with 18 holes.
All eight Cardinal players will compete in the tournament, five of whom remain in the lineup after competing at the Ptarmigan Ram Fall Classic. Junior Anna-Karin Ljungstrom finished tied at 44th with a score of 228 to lead the Cardinals. Senior Maria Castellanos finished tied for 49th with a score of 229. Redshirt freshman Katie Petrino finished tied at 52nd with a score of 230. Tara Lyons and Emily Haas finished tied for 56th with a score of 232.
Redshirt freshman Sara Karlsson and Maike Klein will make their second appearances as individuals this season. Candice Wiley sat out the last tournament after recovering from an injury this summer. Karlsson finished tied for 56th with a score of 232. Klein finished tied at 88th with a score of 245.
The tournament will begin with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Monday.
