Fellerhoff and Shine Earn Slot in ITA All-American Championships

By virtue of their top 60 national ranking, sophomores Julia Fellerhoff and Becca Shine have qualified to participate in the ITA Women's All-American Championships to be held Oct 1 - 9, 2011 at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades.
"Becca Shine and Julia Fellerhoff qualifying for the All-American Championships is a first for Louisville Women's Tennis. This is an invitation-only tournament and it is one of college tennis' Grand Slams, so for them to be invited to play is a huge accomplishment," said U of L head coach Mark Beckham. "They are being rewarded for having a very good freshman season last year and with earning a pre-season national ranking this year, they are giving themselves a good chance to move up the rankings and hopefully make it to the end of the year individual National Championships. Julia should make it into the Singles All-American Tournament as well, she is very deserving and she will be very excited about playing in such a prestigious tournament. Becca and Julia are very good representatives of U of Louisville Athletics."
