Softball Releases 2011-12 Fall Schedule

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - University of Louisville softball coach Sandy Pearsall has released the 2011-12 fall schedule. The Cardinals will host three doubleheaders in September and will wrap up the fall season with an alumnae event.
The Cards will kick off the fall season with a doubleheader against Bellarmine University, Sept. 17 at noon. They will continue with doubleheaders against Murray State on Sept 24 at 2pm, also Morehead State on Sept. 25 at 1pm.
On Friday, Sept. 30 at 7pm Louisville will welcome back former softball players at Ulmer Stadium for an Alumnae game to wrap up their fall season.
U of L finished the 2011 season with a 38-20 record and made its eighth consecutive appearance in the NCAA tournament. The Cards hosted the regional and advanced to the final day before falling to eventual Women's College World Series participant California.
Louisville will return eight starters and 16 letterwinners including all BIG EAST conference selections Alicja Wolny, Katie Keller, Hannah Kiyohara, Caralisa Connell and Jennifer Esteban. They also welcome six talented newcomers to the team.
