
Track and Field Set to Host Cardinal Twilight Meet

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville track and field teams play host to the Cardinal Twilight on Friday, May 13, at Cardinal Park Track and Soccer Stadium, with the event serving as a last-chance meet.
Field events begin at 10 a.m., with the track events slated to begin at 6 p.m. Both are on a rolling schedule.
On the track, Chelsea Brown and Gabrielle Jackson will be competing in the 400m hurdles. The duo placed third and fourth, respectively, at the BIG EAST Championships. Brown and Jackson had career-best marks, as Brown finished in 59.79 and Jackson completed the race in 59.90.
Also competing in the short-distance events will be Margret Harris, Hadassah Bruno, Marcellus Hobbs and Jordon Frazier. Harris is slated to compete in the 200m dash, Bruno and Hobbs will run in the women's and men's 400m, respectively, and Frazier is scheduled to compete in the 400m hurdles.
In the field events, Neil Angermeier and Michael Edwards are tied for 43rd nationally in the high jump after clearing 2.13m/6-11.75 at the BIG EAST Championships. Edwards defeated Angermeier in a jumpoff for the outdoor title.
Freshman Jenna Wargo, who's registered to compete in the javelin, is looking to better her mark of 44.70m/146-8. The mark currently ranks 66th nationally.
Khadija Abdullah, Amashi Kendall, D'Ana McCarty and Chinwe Okoro also are scheduled to compete in the various throwing events.
