Shine Named Women's Tennis Player of the Month

Rebecca Shine clinched the hard fought victory over Marquette for the Cardinals.

Rebecca Shine was named the University of Louisville's women's tennis Player of the Month.

Shine, who is 23-13 overall, has won five of her last six matches. She is 15-6 this spring. This past month, she clinched matches against Marquette and Austin Peay. She also beat Long Beach State's winningest player in its program history.

She will lead the Cardinals this weekend as U of L gets back in action when the Cards travel to Oklahoma this Saturday, April 9 to face the University of Tulsa at 12:00 p.m.

The Golden Hurricane is currently 18-2 coming off their 13th straight win with a 5-2 triumph over Saint Louis and recently earned the highest ranking in the school's history at No.21.

The Cards are 1-2 against the Golden Hurricane. The last time the schools met was back in 2010 where the Louisville fell to Tulsa 7-0 at the Bass Rudd Tennis Center.
