
Women's Golf Earns NCAA Tournament Bid

Louisville, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's golf team earned an at-large bid to the 2011 NCAA Regional Championship to be held in Daytona Beach, Fla., May 5-7 at the LPGA International Golf Course. The Cardinals earned the No. 13 seed in the East Region. The bid is the fifth consecutive appearance for the Cardinals and their sixth overall appearance since the program was started in 2000.
Louisville finished second BIG EAST Championship last Tuesday in Innisbrook, Fla. The Cardinals have finished in the Top 10 in eight of the 10 tournaments this season. Louisville finished in the Top Five of six tournaments this season, including a win at the Indiana Invitational.
Senior Sara-Maude Juneau leads the Cardinals with an impressive 73.1 stroke average. Juneau is currently ranked 18th in the nation by Golfstat and 33rd by Golf Week. Sophomore Anna-Karin Ljungstrom ranks second on the team in stroke average with a 75.5 average.
The Cardinals will begin NCAA Tournament play on May 5 at the LPGA International Golf Course in Daytona Beach, Fla.
