Spokane, Wash. - What a week! We won two great games against two great teams, and it's been amazing! Ever since I transferred to Louisville, I hoped to play Vanderbilt. To play them in our first game on the biggest stage there is? A dream come true! The game was a total team effort. Keshia almost had a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds. Mo had 22 points, six rebounds and five assists. Shoni ended up with 19 points and three assists. I tried to do my part, too. What can I say? We all had a hot hand that night. We came to play in our Xavier game, too. I'm especially proud of our freshmen! Shoni had a career-high 33 points, and Charmaine hit seven clutch free throws to seal the win. They're not babies anymore! But we definitely couldn't have won without support from the greatest fans in America. We had a huge turnout both days, and they made playing Xavier on their home court feel like just another night at the Yum. All we can say is THANK YOU! We're going to keep working hard so everyone can be in Indianapolis when we win a national championship.
It was nice to come home on Wednesday, even if only for a day. I went to class (oh how I've missed that), then watched some film with the team and coaches on Gonzaga. Yep, we're already getting a head start! I brought all my laundry to my Momma's house, so she could wash them before we left again. Definitely one of the perks of going to school at home - love ya Momma!
We were right back at it the next day. Little did I know, we had news crews and a bunch of fans waiting to send us on our way. And I can't leave out the fact that it was 8:30 in the morning. Did I mention we have the best fans?? The flight to Spokane, Washington was almost four hours. I slept through most of the flight, so I didn't mind the long ride. Plus we all got lunch bags on the plane with a bunch of delicious snacks and chips. Just don't tell Teena.
Another full day is ahead of us. We have NCAA press conferences and news interviews in the morning. Then, we practice for the first time at the Spokane Arena. We are three hours behind here, but I'm already starting to get sleepy. Until next time, Cards fans!
