He is listed as having the 12th-best mark in the nation.
Abdullah, who also won her first indoor conference title, will be in action a day later, contesting in the shot put on Saturday at 4:45 p.m. ET. Similar to Smith, Abdullah recorded a career-best mark in the season-opener in the shot put, automatically qualifying with a toss of 16.96m/55-7.75. The mark is good enough for 10th-best nationally. She has won six of her seven competitions this season in the event, including the last four.
