
Women's Golf Finishes 12th in First Spring Tournament

Palos Verdes, Calif. - The University of Louisville women's golf team shot a 313 in the final round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge on Wednesday afternoon at the Palos Verdes Golf Club. The Cardinals finished 12th with a score of 944. USC won the tournament with a score of 884. Arizona State finished second with a score of 886 and UCLA finished third with a score of 887.
Sara-Maude Juneau shot a 71 in the third round to lead the Cardinals. Juneau moved up 16 spots to finish tied at 11th with a score of 222. Arizona State's Carlota Ciganda took medalist honors with a score of 215.
Sophomore Anna-Karin Ljungstrom shot a 78 in the final round. She finished tied for 34th with a score of 230. Senior Laura Anderson shot a 77 in the final round. Anderson moved up seven spots to finish tied at 57th with a score of 243.
Junior Maria Castellanos shot an 87 in the final round to finish tied at 65th with a score of 249. Freshman Tara Lyons shot an 86 in the final round. Lyons competed as an individual, finishing tied for 65th with a score of 249. Sophomore Candice Wiley shot a 90 to finish 71st with a score of 262.
The Cardinals will be back in action on Feb. 27-March 1 in the Sir Pizza Cards Challenge in Weston, Fla.
