
Women's Golf Signs Standout Laura Restrepo

Louisville, Ky. - Laura Restrepo from Panama City, Panama has signed a national letter of intent to play golf at University of Louisville next season head coach Kelly Rothberg announced. Restrepo is finishing her final year at Hank Haney IJGA.
"Laura has one of the strongest resumes of any player coming out of high school that I have signed at Louisville," said Rothberg. "She was a diamond in the rough when I first saw her play and her dedication to the game has helped her quickly become one of the top players in her class. She has a strong short game and could make an immediate impact on our team. She will be a great fit for our team and we are excited about her joining us next year."
So far this fall, Restrepo won the Hilton Head Lakes Tournament, for a personal best tournament score of 9-under par in two rounds of play along with a Top Two finish. She also finished second i the Golfweek Invitational. Last season Restrepo finished the year with four wins, and 10 Top Five finishes in her 14 tournaments.
She won the Central American Championship in Costa Rica. She also placed first at the 2011 US Teens World Championship.
