LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - The University of Louisville softball team will be holding the 2011 Louisville Softball Holiday Clinic on January 16, 2011 at the Trager Fieldhouse.
The holiday clinic will be led by the Louisville softball coaching staff and team. Last season, the Cards posted a 41-18 record and earned their seventh consecutive NCAA appearance, advancing to the regional final before falling to Women's College World Series participant Tennessee. Louisville returns eight starters and 14 letterwinners from last year's team including reigning BIG EAST player of the year Chelsea Bemis and BIG EAST selections Tori Collins, Kristin Austin, Colby Wherry and Alicja Wolny.

Deadline: Application and payment are due Jan. 10th. After Jan. 10th, there is a $25 late fee.

Note: Only one clinic per athlete. The same skills will be taught in sessions 2 & 3. Sessions are held to 60 players per session, which fill quickly. Camp fee includes camp T-shirt.
The Cardinal Softball Clinic will feature instruction in both offensive and defensive skills.
Offense: Campers will learn how to hit with power and work on all aspects of the short game. Base running techniques and drills also will be taught at the clinic.
Defense: Campers will have the opportunity to learn defensive fundamentals and choose a defensive position to improve upon, including pitching and catching.
What to bring: Participants must wear comfortable workout clothing and bring a glove, tennis shoes and/or cleats. It also would be helpful to bring your own bat, helmet and batting gloves. If you are a catcher, please bring your own catching gear.
Camp Day Check-in: Registration will open one hour prior to camp start time.
