2010-11 Women's Basketball Schedule
Louisville, Ky. - The 2010-11 Louisville women's basketball schedule features nonconference games against Tennessee, Kentucky, Xavier, Nebraska, Marist and Dayton. The conference slate features home contests against Rutgers, West Virginia, Georgetown, St. John's and DePaul.
Twenty of the Cardinals' 29 games will be played against teams that participated in post-season competition last season, including 13 in the NCAA Tournament (NCAA Tournament: Connecticut, the 2010 NCAA Champion, Xavier, St. John's, Dayton, Georgetown, Marist, West Virginia, Rutgers, DePaul, Nebraska, Kentucky and Notre Dame; WNIT: Houston, Marquette, Providence, Old Dominion, USF, Pittsburgh, and Syracuse).
Six of the Cardinals' 14 non conference opponents competed in post-season tournaments last season and the group collectively won an average of nearly 28 games (173-33 combined record, .840 winning percentage).
"We have a very challenging non conference schedule that should get our young players ready for an always tough conference slate," said Louisville Head Coach Jeff Walz. "Road games at Xavier and playing three tough games at the UNLV Tournament combined with home games against Tennessee, Dayton and Kentucky are just a few of the many teams that will help prepare us for BIG EAST and postseason play. This season's schedule provides us with a lot of opportunities to improve with each game and we look forward to a very competitive season."
The Cardinals will face their first outside competition in an exhibition game against Indiana Wesleyan on Oct. 30 in the KFC Yum! Center. It will be the Cardinals' only warm up before they open the season and the KFC Yum! Center on Nov. 12 against Tennessee at 7:00 p.m.

Louisville will then travel to Las Vegas for the Dual in the Desert to face three teams that played in the postseason last year, Marist, Houston and Nebraska. The Cardinals will wrap up the non conference season at home on Dec. 28 against UT-Martin.
The Cards' 16-game league schedule will begin on Dec. 15 with an early game at Cincinnati.
