LOUISVILLE, Ky. - With the Louisville football season opener just a little more than two weeks away, construction crews are putting the finishing touches on the expansion project at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
The project, which began in December of 2009, features 33 suites, 1,725 club seats and 13,000 chair-back seats. Another element in the expansion is south end terrace, which connects the east and west sides of the stadium - an area open to everyone in the stadium - and will make access around the stadium more convenient to fans. With the upgrades, PJCS will be able to house more than 55,000 people.
Other amenities added in the expansion include the addition of more than 1,100 reserved parking spaces, a new 60-by-20-foot LED video board (same size as existing video board at north end) and a pair of of 345-by-3-foot LED ribbon boards.
