LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Four members of the University of Louisville women's track and field team were named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I All-Academic Team.
The four Cardinals named to the list were Lindsey Cook (finance), Rachel Gehret (exercise science and physical education for teacher preparation), Amashi Kendall (exercise science) and Chinwe Okoro (biology).
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either the NCAA Division I Indoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard or participated in the NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships (including preliminary rounds) in their respective event.
While the award is Kendall's first, as she was a freshman this past season, Cook, Gehret and Okoro each have appeared on the all-academic team previously.
