
Teena Murray Named Master Strength and Conditioning Coach

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Teena Murray, Director of Olympic Sports Performance at the University of Louisville, will be named Master Strength and Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa). It is the highest honor bestowed in the strength and conditioning coaching profession.
Master Strength and Conditioning Coach Heather Mason from the University of Tennessee will present Coach Murray with the blue MSCC Jacket on Thursday, May 6, at the Orlando Marriott World Center

"Being named a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach signifies a commitment to the student athlete, a commitment to the University of Louisville Athletic Program, and a commitment to the strength and conditioning profession. We are honored to have Coach Murray as a member of our association and to have her join the ranks of the Master Strength and Conditioning Coaches. She is truly a model of an outstanding strength and conditioning professional."
In order to receive this certification and corresponding title of distinction, an individual must first meet the following criteria: hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree; be a currently practicing, full-time strength & conditioning coach on the collegiate or professional level; hold current membership in the CSCCa; hold the CSCCa Certification - SCCC (Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified); and have a minimum of 12 years experience as a full-time strength and conditioning coach on the collegiate or professional level.
Twelve collegiate strength & conditioning coaches will receive the prestigious certification of Master Strength & Conditioning Coach at the 2010 MSCC Ceremony: Teena Murray (University of Louisville), Billy Anderson (University of South Carolina), Scott Bird (Kansas State University), Monte Curtis (University of Southern Mississippi), Craig Fitzgerald (University of South Carolina), Tommy Hoke (Michigan State University), Ruben Mendoza (University of Notre Dame), Ken Sheppard (University of Kansas), Tory Stephens (Texas Tech University), Aaron Uzzell (Texas Tech University), Michael Vorkapich (Michigan State University), and Tim Wakeham (Michigan State University). These twelve coaches will join the existing 80 Master Strength & Conditioning Coaches, bringing the total number of MSCC's to 92.
