
Cardinals to Compete at Three Meets This Weekend

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The nationally ranked University of Louisville men's (No. 15) and women's (No. 20) track and field teams will compete at three separate meets this weekend.
The sprints, hurdles, distance and jumps groups will compete at the prestigious Penn Relays in Philadelphia which will feature some of the top athletes in the NCAA. The throwing group will travel to Bowling Green, Ky. to compete at the WKU Invitational hosted by Western Kentucky University. The middle-distance group will stay home in the "ville" and compete at the Bellarmine Classic hosted by Bellarmine University.
The Penn Relays will begin at 10:00 a.m. (ET) on Thursday with the women's 400m hurdles and conclude with the men's 4x400m relay Championship of America on Saturday at 6:00 p.m.
The WKU Invitational will start at 8:00 a.m. (ET) Saturday with the men's hammer throw and will end with the women's javelin at 4:30 p.m.
The Bellarmine Classic will commence at 3:05 p.m. (ET) with the women's 1,500 meters and will close with the men's 800 meters at 5:15 p.m. tentatively.
"It is a great honor for us to be a part of and to be able to compete at the Penn Relays this weekend. This meet is one of the icons of track and field. It is a great honor and we expect to do well" said U of L head coach Ron Mann. "This weekend will be the final touch before we go into the BIG EAST Championships next weekend" said Coach Mann.
The Cards will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio on April 30-May 2 to compete for the 2010 BIG EAST Outdoor Championships.
