
Women's Basketball travels to Pittsburgh for Sunday Matchup

Pittsburgh, Pa. - The University of Louisville women's basketball team will finish up a two game road stretch at Pittsburgh on Sunday, Feb. 14 at 5:30 p.m. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN2 as part of their February Frenzy of women's basketball coverage. Dave Pasch and Kayte Christensen will call the game action on Sunday.
The Cardinals enter the game with an overall record of 11-13 and a BIG EAST record of 3-8. Louisville will look to snap a four game losing streak and earn their second conference road win of the season. The Cardinals are led by a pair of sophomores in Becky Burke and Monique Reid. Reid leads the Cardinals in scoring and rebounding with 16.1 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. Burke is second on the team in scoring with 15.1 points per game. Burke leads the team from behind the arc, connecting on 58 3-pointers this season.
Pittsburgh enters the game with an overall record of 12-11 and a BIG EAST record of 1-9. The Panthers are also on a four game losing streak and are looking to bounce back against the Cardinals. The Panthers have three players that are averaging double figures, led by junior Jania Sims with 13.4 points per game. Junior Taneisha Harrison is the second leading scorer, averaging 12.8 points per game while junior Shayla Scott rounds out the top scorers with 11.3 points per game.
Louisville leads the overall series 4-1 against the Panthers. The Cardinals are 1-1 against Pittsburgh in the Peterson Events Center. The game will also be broadcast live on WKRD and at www.uoflsports.com. Jim Kelch will handle the play-by-play duties while Adrienne Johnson will add the color commentary.
