Women's Basketball Hosts Houston Baptist On Wednesday Evening

Louisville, Ky. - The Louisville women's basketball team will play host to the Houston Baptist on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 7:00 p.m. in the KFC Yum! Center. The Cardinals are coming off their first win of the season with an 84-47 victory over Ohio on Sunday.
The Cardinals are led by junior Monique Reid leads the team in scoring and rebounding averaging 16.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Junior Becky Burke and freshman Shoni Schimmel are tied for second on the team in scoring with 11.0 points per game. Schimmel also leads the team in assists with 5.5 per game.
Houston Baptist enters the game with an overall record of 0-1. The Huskies are coming off a 96-38 season opening loss to No. 23 TCU last Friday. Sophomore Destini Texada leads the team in scoring and rebounding with nine points and 11 rebounds in their season opener. Texada also leads the team in assists with four.
It is the first meeting between the two teams. The game will be broadcasted live on WKRD and www.UofLsports.com. Jim Kelch will call the game and Paul Sanderford will add color commentary.
