
Youman Named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - - University of Louisville field hockey player Nicole Youman was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Oct. 19. This marks the third time she has earned the honor this season.
Youman, a senior forward from Black Mountain, Australia, led the tenth-ranked Cardinals to a 2-0 record last week with three goals and five assists for 11 points. In the 6-0 win over Villanova, she scored a pair of goals and recorded three assists. She added another goal and dished out two more assists in Sunday's 4-1 victory over Iowa.
Youman set a new single season record for assists with 18 and increased her school-best career tally to 51. She leads the conference with 15 goals, 18 assists and 48 points this season.
U of L (11-5, 4-1 BIG EAST) will wrap league play at Providence on Saturday. The Cardinals have secured a spot in the BIG EAST tournament and currently stand at second in the conference while the Friars (4-11, 0-4) are in seventh place. Louisville will face New Hampshire on Sunday.
