Women's Tennis Advances at ITA Ohio Valley Regionals

The University of Louisville tennis team enjoyed another strong performance on day three of the 2010 USTA/ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships on Friday at the Knoxville Racquet Club.
Two Cards are still alive in the main singles draw and advanced to the round of 16 and one U of L doubles tandem also advanced to the quarterfinals. Rebecca Shine defeated Ashley Canty of Murray State 6-3, 6-2 and Kaysara Mandry beat Xavier's Andrea Wolf 6-3, 6-3 to advance. Sarah Miller fell 6-3, 6-2 to Kelly Holtzhausen of ETSU and Julia Fellerhoff was edged in three sets 2-6, 6-2, 6-4.
Sarah Miller and Rebecca Shine advanced in the Main Doubles Draw with a 8-5 win over Courtney Collins and Stefanie Mikesz. Kaysara Mandry and Gabrielle Duncan fell 8-2 to Erica Robertson and Alex Leatu of Vanderbilt.
Play resumes Saturday morning.
