
Women's Basketball Hosts Villanova Tuesday Night in Freedom Hall

Louisville, Ky. - The University of Louisville women's basketball team will host Villanova on Tuesday, Jan. 26 in Freedom Hall at 7:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on WKRD and will also be available on www.UofLSports.com. Jim Kelch will handle the play-by-play, while Adrienne Johnson will be the color analyst.
Louisville enters the game with a 10-9 overall record and a 2-4 record in the BIG EAST. The Cards are looking to bounce back after three straight losses to ranked opponents. The sophomore duo of Becky Burke and Monique Reid lead the Cardinals. Burke leads the team in scoring with 16.1 points per game. She also leads the team from behind the arc, connecting on 47 3-pointers this season. Reid leads the team in rebounding and is second in scoring. She is averaging 9.2 rebounds and 15.4 points per game. Junior Keshia Hines ranks third on the team in scoring with 9.2 points per game and second in rebounding with 7.2 boards per game.
Villanova enters the game with an overall record of 11-7 and a BIG EAST record of 0-5. The Wildcats have two players averaging double figures, led by freshman Laura Sweeney with 11.3 points per game. Sweeney also leads the team in rebounding with 5.8 boards per game. Senior Maria Getty is the second leading scorer, averaging 10.7 points per game.
The game will be the fifth meeting between the two teams. Louisville leads the series 4-0 over the Villanova Wildcats.
