Softball Releases Fall Schedule

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - University of Louisville softball coach Sandy Pearsall has announced the 2009-10 fall schedule.
The Cardinals will kick off fall competition with an intrasquad scrimmage on Sept. 20. Bellarmine, Morehead State and Murray State will travel to Ulmer Stadium for the Louisville Fall Tournament Sept. 26-27. The Cards will close fall play with an alumnae game slated for Oct. 3 at 2 p.m.
The University of Louisville softball team is coming off a record-setting season, finishing at 48-11, setting a new mark for wins and tying the record for fewest losses after reaching their sixth straight NCAA regional appearance. Additionally, Louisville was a mainstay in the top 25 rankings, reaching a program-high of 14th in both the National Fastpitch Coaches Association and USA Softball polls. U of L closed the season at No. 24 in the NFCA poll.
The Cards return 12 letterwinners and seven starters from last year's team including All-Americans Melissa Roth and Kristen Wadwell.
