
Fans Invited to Cardinal Park Celebration

Louisville, Ky. - The University of Louisville Athletic Department would like to invite the public to a 10th anniversary celebration of Cardinal Park on Friday, September 18, beginning with the the U of L field hockey game against Syracuse at 4:00 p.m.
The event will commemorate a 10-year run for Cardinal Park, which has now been renamed Owsley B. Frazier Cardinal Park. The day will be highlighted by four main events, all occurring at venues in the park, which also includes a pep rally in preparation for the Cardinals' football game at the University of Kentucky the following day.
4 p.m. - U of L field hockey faces Syracuse at Trager Stadium
6:30 p.m. - U of L men's soccer battles West Virginia at Soccer Stadium
Special halftime recognition of 10th anniversary of Cardinal Park
8:30 p.m. - Pep rally for all Cardinal fans in Ulmer Stadium
9 p.m. - Concert featuring Nappy Roots, Ulmer Stadium
All events are free. Parking is available in the garage located across from Cardinal Park, as well as surface parking in the Cardinal Park area.
Owsley B. Frazier Cardinal Park includes Ulmer Stadium - home of Cardinal softball; Soccer/Track Stadium - home of U of L track and field and men's and women's soccer, and Trager Stadium - home of U of L field hockey.
In addition, the park features the Jewish Hospital Cardio Path and the recently built Marshall Center, a 10,000 square foot weight and conditioning center for student-athletes.
Cardinal Park, throughout its first ten years, has hosted numerous community events and several NCAA and Big East conference post season events, including the NCAA Field Hockey Championships in 2003, 2005 and 2008, and NCAA softball and soccer first and second rounds. The Cardinals also hosted the 2009 Mideast Track and Field Regionals in May.
