
McCoughtry Invited to WNBA Draft

Louisville, Ky. - Senior All-American Angel McCoughtry is one of 15 players invited to attend next week's WNBA Draft. The draft will be held next Thursday (April 9) at the NBA Entertainment studios in Secaucus, N.J. The first round will be televised on ESPN2 at 3 p.m.
McCoughtry is being projected as the No. 1 or 2 pick in the draft. The Atlanta Dream will have the first pick, followed by the Washington Mystics. Among the other players invited to attend are Connecticut's Renee Montgomery, Oklahoma's Courtney and Ashley Paris, Maryland's Kristi Toliver and Marissa Coleman and Rutgers' Kia Vaughn.
Fans can help McCoughtry in voting for the prestigious Naismith Award, which marks the national player of the year. She's a finalist for the honor, along with Courtney Paris, and UConn's Montgomery and Maya Moore.
Now through April 4 at 9 p.m. fans can text a vote for the award. The fans vote will count 25 percent of how the award is given.
Fans can register to vote by texting `VOTE' to 51234. After registering, fans will receive a ballot via text message that allows them to respond with their choice among the remaining Naismith finalists. The vote will give you both the men's ballot followed by the women's ballot.
